Probably the most important decision that you can make when you are buying a house is the area that you buy in. The old saying about the three most important things in real estate all being location is as true now as it ever was. That means that the first thing that we have to do when I am helping you to find a house is to sit down and decide what type of area you want to live in. Obviously you want one where house prices are going up and are likely to continue to do so but we also have to think about things like the distance to work and what the schools are like if you are planning to have children.

It will also be necessary to discuss what you are looking for when it comes to your house. You will likely have a wish list of the things that you want and we will do our best to make sure that you get these in your house. What we will do is come up with a list of things that you have to have in a house and things that you would like to have. This will ensure that we don't waste time looking at the houses that don't meet the have to have list. We may need to be flexible on the like to have list but we will do our best to get you as much of it as possible.

Where things start to get tricky is when we sit down to discuss the budget, unless you have an unlimited budget comprises are going to have to be made. In general you will have to make a choice between having a really nice house in a less desirable area or a house that isn't quite as nice in a better location. In general you will be better off going with the house in the good neighborhood. That being said you don't want to buy a house that doesn't meet your needs just because of the area that it is in. what we need to do is find the balance between a house that meets your requirements and is in a good location. This can get difficult since there will have to be some compromises made but by working together we can find you the house that will be best for your needs.
